Princess Playlist: I Know It

Take your Love and run from me
Is this the way Love's supposed to be?

I once perpetuated the end of a love affair by playing this song too much. I'm not kidding. It's all for the best though, isn't it?

Sometimes, (especially when one listens to too much Madonna at one time) it's easy to enjoy the longing, and suffering that infatuation perpetuates. Sometimes, your projected romantic satisfaction is only as great as the manipulated temperature of your obsession. Half the fun of the affair is in obsessing. Like cocaine, the more you do it the more you want to do it.

Everyone needs love. But some people NEED Love. I think the exaggeration is completely fake. It's a hallucination. No one needs anyone else that much, though it can certainly feel that way. And what are feelings, if not subjective creations? I mean, really.

Princess Playlist: Reach

I'm having one of my more expansive days, where the ham and cheese and optimism are running high.

There's this feeling that I get whenever I watch a Britney Spears, Madonna, or Nicki Minaj video; listen to The Beatles, or Tom Petty; whenever the Yankees are playing good baseball; whenever I'm writing, I use a really satisfying combination of words, or when I'm just on the verge of making a splendid point.

I get the tingles, in my head, on the left hand side, sometimes in the back a few inches above my neck, sometimes above my ear and toward my brow, I get the tingles. That's my spot - the left side of my head.

When I get the tingles I know I'm jamming on my highest frequency, and am at my most capable state. I know then, that whatever stimuli are being input are the right ones for my activation.

This song is one of those stimuli. This is where I'm at:

What does it feel like when you reach your "can do" place? What's it like jamming on your highest frequency?

Princess Playlist 2Fer: The Flow

Bitches don't even know about this right here:

What I'm going to need for everyone to do is bring back that bent-knee-hip shimmy. You know the one Michael did in Thriller, or was it Beat It? The one The Jets are doing while dressed in all sorts of Crayola colored cotton blends. You can't tell me that pop/R&B from the 80s wasn't the look. The Jets, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Teen Marie, and the Pointer Sisters. Come on. Also, if anyone was ever confused as to what I write about --- it mostly centers around the following:

Princess Playlist: It Breaks My Heart...

Imagine if you will, a kitchen:

The back door in the corner against a wall, next to the counter, next to the sink on the left hand side. More counters at the turn against the wall opposite the wall directly adjacent to the back door. Imagine a metal table with a turquoise top... beneath that a woman in a red dress with white polka dots, lying in a pool of blood. Another woman stands at the sink, washing her hands singing along to this song on the radio:

This is the scene that song gives me. Either because I'm nuts, or I'm a writer, or both.

You are the character who's just walked through the door. Who are you, what's gone on here?

Princess Playlist: It Really Turns Me On

How old were you the first time you heard this one?

Girl, he does not just want to know your name. But it's okay though, because he's singing. Seriously. I know I can't be the only one who's genuinely wished we lived in a Musical world (think MGM Studios 1930s, 40s, and 50s,) where people randomly burst into song, either alone, in pairs, or groups. I'd so much prefer to be hit on in the streets by handsome roughnecks rapping Jodeci at me, as opposed to being eye-fucked and  "hollared" at by hoodrats with Wacka Flocka's education level and self-expression. *Sigh*
