Malala Yousufzai Is My Hero.

Regardless which conspiracy theories and propoganda you want to buy into about the state of world affairs the Western world still has some things right, or at least the one: Everyone deserves an education.

Malala Yousufzai is a 14 year old womens' rights activist - let that sink in a moment, she's a 14 year old women's rights activist - in Pakistan, who is so vocal about her right to an education that the Taliban shot her on Tuesday. I mean, what?

This can't be life. This world we live in can not be real. What is going on when an assassination attempt is made on a 14 year old girl who actually wants to go to school?

Excuse me?

Malala is everything to me right now. I'm so moved by her bravery, her articulation, her faith.

We're all worked up about real stupid, trivial bullshit. We are so comfortable with our smart phones and laptops and shitty public transportation, and she got shot in the head and neck because she likes to read, because she's courageous enough to speak up against the conditions in her community which sought to oppress her.

And we sit over here on our green grass and yelp like annoying designer puppy mill dogs over the imperfect state of our comfortably numb lives.

Why aren't we striving? She's 14 and striving. When's the last time you listened to your internal voice and spoke up and stood up and did something about what you knew deep inside of you was wrong?

Oh my god, let this girl be your inspiration. Each and every single one of us could turn this world around if we weren't so afraid of being shot.

I'm convinced of a higher power and order to the Universe when things like this happen. The moment you attach yourself to ideals greater than your personal life is when the Universe pulls you out of this muckfest and sets you up for something better.

Maybe Malala will wake up. Maybe she won't. But she's already done more with her life in three years than anyone I know.

Starting your own business or publishing your own books or releasing an EP doesn't really mean shit in comparison - especially when you have no sense of community, especially when you wouldn't go that extra mile for your people.

I'm so angered by her being shot, but at the same time I take comfort in knowing there are still good souls roaming the Earth, burning with the fire of truth.

Awww it is all a drama by the Americans. There are thousands who write diaries against the Taliban here. Their only bad luck is that they did not get shot. Otherwise perhaps their names would be included in the Guinness book of world records.
