Inspiration: Boss Bitches

The Boss Bitch.
You bossin' boo?

This is the highest honor and title I could ever hope to achieve. I'm not quite there yet, but I'd like to think I'm en route.

Never mind anyone's hang up with the word bitch. I find the people who have hang-ups with words being used in a "derogatory manner" are usually the kinds of people who have hang-ups with themselves.

Don't project your projections onto me, bitch. Words, by themselves, have no power. Words are like the physical human body. Without the force of the mind, or the soul, without the intention to motivate it, nothing it does will mean anything. Words are made powerful with intention.  My words are always meant to inspire, whether in thought or action. If your interpretation is skewed, that isn't my problem. I don't intend to have to eat my words - ever. (I may offer condolences on your muy sensitivo feelings, but I retract nada) I can only try to explain in the hopes that you can understand. Nevertheless, if I've written something that caused you to feel - or think - then I've succeeded at my foremost goal: inspiration. Now, onward to Boss Bitches!

The Boss Bitch is the true Queen Bee of her hive.
She gets things done. She takes no mess from anyone. You can't step to a Boss Bitch incorrect because what she's got is what you want and she's probably in good position to help you. When you address the Queen with respect everyone eats good.

A good Queen  is benevolent, generous, and wise. She reflects a myriad of characteristics possessed in the Divine Feminine: she creates, she shares, she uses good judgment, and she protects and defends.

For instance, Madonna is a Boss Bitch. It's been said of Madonna that whatever she wants done, she gets it done. Even her ex-husband referred to her as a master "manifester." She jumped on the scene and has straight run it for 25+ years. I wonder if Britney Spears and Lady Gaga will be making art, music, books, producing movies, constructing elaborate theatrical stage performances, and selling out arenas around the world all while committing to major philanthropic undertakings and raising their families when they’re 54... Doubt it. Boss.

Oprah Winfrey is a boss bitch. Same thing: jumped on the scene, did it differently, connected with her audience, transformed herself and grew with them for 25+ years. Boss. In the face of their achievements and what they’ve given to the world, you could only be a hater to deny the boss status of these women.

Fame doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being a boss. Fame is only the result of individual vibrations matching in abundance with the vibration of the collective, and the mindset of the whole. That is to say, people get famous when they are given or create a window to reach a vast majority of other people who are mentally and emotionally situated to receive them.

But being a Boss Bitch isn’t about being famous. It’s about running your shit wherever you are, and being a proper inspiration to those around. Here are two bosses who’ve come onto my radar in the past year and who I’m absolutely inspired and motivated by:

Loren Ridinger – Loren is a close family friend of the Kardashians. She rubs elbows with a bunch of celebrities including Pharell Williams, J.Lo, and Eva Longoria. But the best thing about Loren is that she is a hard working business woman with a strong sense of purpose and self.

Loren maintains a women’s lifestyle blog full of wonderful daily advice. She encourages readers to dream and to keep pushing. She reminds us that the world is ours for the taking, that we can achieve anything, and that it all starts with belief. Loren's World isn’t all just positive thinking blurbs. Between herself and her guest bloggers, the site offers up practical advice for the working family woman, from work place tips, to networking basics, to stress reducers.

Here is the self-made woman (she’s business partners with her husband, but they built Market America together) offering up her wisdom, tools, and encouragement to the world, daily, and for free. That looks like some Boss behavior to me. She’s experienced, wise, and benevolent with her knowledge. What more could you ask for in way of inspiration?

Lynn Titlton - Lynn is the Founder and CEO of Patriarch Partners - a private equity firm that buys up floundering companies and turns them back in profitable businesses. I found her last winter when I was scoping out Spiegel.com for affiliate opportunities.

Tilton is curvy and decorated. She’s a native New Yorker who looks like she stepped out of a classic 1980s primetime soap (think Colbys, Dynasty). She’s smart (graduated Yale & Columbia), powerful and successful. And she strikes fear into the hearts of men. This is no exaggeration.

A google search of Tilton yields no shortage of articles highlighting her achievements, and quotes from former employees and present colleagues who would all agree she’s got balls. Sundance Channel was developing a reality show about her, but in the wake of a Forbes magazine investigative report the project was cancelled. Lynn Tilton might be a little much for audiences, which I think this is because she’s just that good at what she does. Not every company can be saved, and unfortunately Spiegel has had to file for bankruptcy. In any event, Tilton’s ability for putting companies back on the right track is so formidable that she’s patented her business formula. That’s BOSS. Read more about Lynn at New York Magazine’s website.

The way I see it is it’s great to be loved, and hated. If you’re pulling both the strongest emotions out of people you’re definitely doing something right. You are definitely a Boss Bitch. A Boss Bitch knows what she’s good at, she puts in work, she gets it done and no one can maintain an indifferent reaction to her.
